Overview
Dihexa (N-hexanoyl-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic acid amide) is a synthetic oligopeptide analog derived from angiotensin IV, developed at Washington State University as a blood-brain-barrier-penetrant investigational compound for neurotrophic and synaptogenesis research. In the laboratory it has been studied as a potent inducer of new synaptic connections, reported to act through the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-Met signaling pathway. It is used strictly as a research reference material.
