ACTH (1-39)

Overview

ACTH(1-39), also known as corticotropin, is the full-length 39-amino-acid endogenous peptide hormone produced by cleavage of proopiomelanocortin (POMC) in the anterior pituitary. It is the central effector of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, binding melanocortin receptor 2 (MC2-R) to stimulate adrenal cortical synthesis and secretion of glucocorticoids such as cortisol. Vialdyne releases ACTH (1-39) as a lyophilized peptide against a ≥98% HPLC main-peak specification, supplied with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis covering RP-HPLC purity, mass-spec identity, appearance, and water content.
