Overview
Dermorphin is a naturally occurring heptapeptide opioid first isolated in 1981 from the skin secretions of the South American waxy monkey leaf frog (Phyllomedusa sauvagei) (Montecucchi et al., 1981). Its sequence contains an unusual D-alanine (D-Ala) residue, making it the first vertebrate-derived peptide discovered to contain a D-amino acid — a structural feature that confers resistance to protease degradation and exceptionally high affinity and selectivity for the mu-opioid receptor. Vialdyne releases Dermorphin as a lyophilized peptide against a ≥98% HPLC main-peak specification, supplied with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis covering RP-HPLC purity, mass-spec identity, appearance, and water content. Lots are released only after the COA is on file.
Applications & buyer fit
Cognitive and neuropeptide buyers are predominantly research labs running in vivo rodent studies. The dominant administration route in the literature is intranasal, these peptides are not meaningfully blood-brain-barrier permeable when delivered systemically.
